Claims brands are neglecting the millions of BlackBerry mobile internet browsersBrands should wake up to the fact that millions of BlackBerry owners are regularly browsing the mobile web, says mobile payments and analytics firm Bango.
"With all the buzz surrounding the Apple iPhone and the rush to capitalise on its success, many companies fail to realise that over three times more consumers browse the web from a BlackBerry," says CEO Ray Anderson.
"The global smartphone race is well under way, but it is the BlackBerry that is the Usain Bolt out in front."
Bango has releases stats to back its opinion up, claiming that BlackBerry is now "the fifth most popular mobile phone for browsing the web in the UK and worldwide".
That's all BlackBerry handsets, obviously, not just one model. In the US, Bango says BlackBerry is in third place with 14% of all mobile traffic.
The company has released a free white paper titled 'Increasing Your Slice of the BlackBerry Pie' to help brands take advantage of the large number of BlackBerry mobile internet users - many of whom are now browsing via Wi-Fi.
