If you have ever fancied to be a DJ, then here is a chance to be one! Samsung has introduced a curvy music phone with exclusive DJ feature. Yes.. I’m talking about the Samsung Beat DJ 3G Mobile Phone. This is a beautiful touchscreen phone for an affordable price, and sports a bright 2.8 inch full touch AMOLED display. This offers beautiful pictures and screen playback to the users. This phone features latest technologies like 3G, EDGE, GPRS, etc. to provide an enhanced mobile browsing experience. Customisable homescreen equipped with widgets are yet another advantage of this hand-held.
Beat DJ Application is the much vaunted feature of this handset. Samsung has included unique DJ feature for the music freaks to create their own tunes by scratching the records or by mixing them with the various pre-loaded sound effects. Another goody of this device is the DISC User interface. Definitely, it adds fun while navigating for music files. One need to drag the music file into the stylised CD player to start up the music; however, the lack of control buttons(forward and rewind) makes this UI incomplete.
Since Beat DJ Mobile Phone is a music phone, the expectations on its sound quality will be quite high. Samsung Beat M7600 DJ Mobile Phone is no champion when it comes to the audio quality. It was disappointing that even after housing the B&O audio gubbins, the audio performance of this device is not up to the mark. Although, the 5.1 surround sound effect goes well for the electronics music, there is a deterioration in the audio quality when it comes to the vocal and instrumental tones. The lack of GPS and Wi-fi along with the ‘not so-polished’ UI can be pointed out as some other disappointments of this device.
One can make use of the microSD card slot to beef up the memory of this mobile phone upto 16GB. The inclusion of 3.5mm jack will be a relieving news for the music aficionados. The 3.2MP camera with video recording offers decent snaps even in low light. Samsung is employing Symbian OS in this handset. It looks quite appealing in the bright and responsive AMOLED touch screen. If you ask me, DJ feature will not be of great use for many of the users.
