Nokia N900 for gaming: pros and cons

Facebook browser games good, lack of multi-touch not so good.

Games developers at Nokia World have been telling ME of their excitement about Nokia's new N900 device, but also warning of its downsides.
Developers love the power of the N900, with its 1GHz processor and ability to serve up native games. It certainly looks capable of going toe-to-toe with iPhone 3GS when it comes to rich 3D games.
However, Nokia's Mark Ollila pointed out to ME that the N900 has another advantage over Apple's device: full Flash support in its Web browser.
"You can login to Facebook and play Who Has The Biggest Brain?" he told ME. "Browser games could be a really exciting area for this device."
The question is whether this will be a better experience for gamers than a dedicated mobile version of social games like the Playfish title named above. Even so, it goes to show that N900 gaming is about more than downloads.

However, developers also told ME that they wished the N900 had multi-touch, and questioned how its touchscreen will perform, for example, for racing and football games.
This isn't a Nokia-specific issue, though. One developer told us that they tried to port their successful iPhone action game to a Samsung touchscreen phone, but the results were just too clunky.
